Norah Belle (Davis) and James Frederick “Fred” Jackson, Fort Lupton, CO, 1910.

Norah and Fred were married in Greeley on Valentine’s Day, 1892, and in 1896 moved to Fort Lupton to farm.  After tiring of farming, they moved into town in 1906 and in 1907 bought a general store, which they named the Jackson Mercantile Company.   It stood on the southeast corner of 4th & Denver Ave.  Unfortunately, a poor local economy forced them to close in 1911, and they returned to farming.  They had 4 daughters, Bessie, Sylva, Lillie and Edna.   In 1923 Norah and Fred moved to Long Beach, CA, where they owned 3 small neighborhood grocery stores and retired in 1939.
