Snow on Denver Avenue, Fort Lupton, CO, ca. 1914.

Emily, the author of this postcard dated August 12, 1916, writes to Annie Stanley in Galveston, TX:

“Dear Anne – This is a scene of a big snow storm here about 2 years ago.  How would you like to be in such?  It’s hot as Texas here right now.  Love to all, Emily.”

Looking across Denver Avenue, you can see the Philip and Allsebrook hardware store, the Fort Lupton State Bank and an establishment next to the bank with the name “Funk” on it.  On the near side, note the mortar and pestle mounted on top of the wooden pole (just to the right of the chap standing on the snow) to identify a pharmacy.  Looks like a hitching post in the immediate foreground.
